An easy way of entering a multi-day vacation in teacher calendars

Would love a super-simple way of entering multi-day vacations in teacher calendars.
Most of our teachers find the existing unavailability feature to be confusing and difficult to use for typical things, like noting a week-long vacation. 
Would love an easy way of entering a date-range, that creates a simple bar, stretching across vacation days in the upper "all-day" of the calendar (similar to how multi-day events are handled in Google Calendar).   
It would be helpful if this new vacation feature also showed up in the monthly view.
